A mature ficus tree planted in the middle of the road and sidewalk visibly screens the house as cars pass by, while a burnt orange walkway runs past the drought-tolerant front garden, into a cozy veranda decorated with a picture-perfect porch swing and shaded by shades of LA heat.
The front door opens directly into the stylish living room, complete with a wood burning fireplace and built-in shelving. A formal dining room features beautiful casement windows and garden views, while the updated kitchen offers a mix of black linoleum floors and a combination of both retro appliances – which include a grove butter yellow stove – and modern, mid-grade stainless appliances.
There are no traditional theatrical master suites, only two spacious bedrooms that share a single bathroom with shower and separate wet tub. The larger bedroom has direct access to a patioway in a shady courtyard shaded by a wooden mesh and sits in the corner of the converted garage, which now forms a combo of office / informal seating rooms but could easily be converted into an artist’s studio or home gym.
