‘Shang-Chi’ star Simu Liu’s ‘One True Loves’ sells wide for the Highlands

In the case of “One True Loves” romance starring Simu Liu (“Shang-chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”), the Highland Film Group has the right to distribute in the main international region.

The film adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s best-selling novel stars Amy and Tony-nominated Filippa Soe (“Hamilton”) and Luke Brassey (“Holiday”). Alex J. Finally brought him back to life.

Highland Film Group represents the international right to acquire U.S. domestic rights with The Avenue, the company’s domestic distribution arm, at the Toronto International Film Festival. Squareon Entertainment, which is producing executive alongside the Highland Film Group, has chosen all German-speaking regions.

Signature Entertainment has acquired VLG, UK and Ireland. Bulgaria, the former Yugoslavia, Czech Republic / Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, TVN Poland and Forum Film Israel.

The film is produced by Vision Media Partners Adam Beasley and Michael Jefferson (“Supersell”), Willie Kutner (“Sundown”), Fickman, Betsy Sulanger (“The Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse”) and Sarah Finn (“).” It is produced by filmmakers Taylor Jenkins Reed, Alex J. Reid, Delphin Perier of the Highland Film Group and Arian Fraser and Al Muntienu of Square One Productions.

“One True Loves” will begin shooting on October 11 in a North Carolina location.

Highland Film Group’s current sales slate includes Renee Harlin’s “The Misfits” starring Pierre Brosnan, Nick Cannon and Tim Roth; Alan Unger’s “Bandit” starring Josh Duhamel, Mel Gibson and Ilya Kutbert; Stefan Rick’s “The Good Take” starring Jonathan Rice Meyers and Luke Clintank; Haley Law starring Avon Jogia’s “Door Mouse”, Famke Janssen and Keith Powers and Joel Souzer starring “Rust”, Alec Baldwin.
