Sheriff Dewey Riley – Reboot David Arquette Cast ‘Scream’ as Various

David Arquette will re-launch Sheriff Dewey Riley’s role in the upcoming “Scream” reboot.
“I’m thrilled to play with Davy again and reunite with my ‘Scream’ family,” Orkit said. “Scream has become a big part of my life and I’m looking forward to honoring Wes Craven’s legacy for both fans and me.”
Spyglass Media Group announced Monday that filming is expected to begin later this year in Wilmington, NC, while security protocols are in place. James Vanderbilt (“Murder Mystery,” “The Zodiac,” “The Amazing Spider-Man”) and Guy Basic (“Ready or Not”) scripts, “Ready or Not” by director Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillette are helping the reboot. .
Details of the plot for the reboot are under wrapping, though Spieglass said talks are underway with other inherited cast members to join the film.
The original “Scream” starred Sidney Prescott in 1996 as Neve Campbell, the target of Ghostface Assassin, who was inspired by Edward Mancha’s “The Scream”. Directed by Wester Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, the four film franchises co-starred Courtney Cox and Arquette. Bob Weinstein’s Dimension Films released four films, which grossed 60 608 million at the worldwide box office, including sequels released in 1997, 2000 and 2011.

Arquette recently co-founded XTR, a new production studio, and will later be seen in Brea Grant’s upcoming combined feature comedy, “12 Hour Shift.” His professional wrestling documentary, “You Can’t Deal David Arquette” was recently acquired by Super LTD for distribution in North America.
