In “The Good House”, Sigourney Weaver plays Hildi in a wealthy New England town, a thorny, well-known realtor. Hildi is a mother and grandmother, and her family has become concerned about her drinking. When they make an intervention, the beginning of which you can see in this exclusive clip, Weavers Hildi breaks down the fourth wall and tells the audience about the players.
“Let me introduce you to everyone first,” Hildi tells the camera. And then she gathers her opinion: “This is my ex-husband, Scott, to whom I pay allowances. Even though after 22 years of marriage he has left me for a man.
The production of Amblin Partners titled “The Good House” will premiere on September 15 as a gala presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival. Same name with Thomas Bejuchar. Forbes and Olodarsky, partners at work and in life, previously collaborated on films such as the 2014 Sundance Breakout “Infinitely Polar Bear” and the Jack Black starrer comedy “The Polka King”, which also premiered at Sundance in 2017 and was acquired by Netflix. This is their second co-directing of a feature film (“The Polka King” was the first).
In “The Good House”, Kevin co-stars with Klein Weaver in the reunion of the 1993 comedy “Dave” as Hildi’s ex-Frank, who may or may not want to come back together. Morena Bakerin (“Homeland,” “Deadpool”) plays Rebecca, a mysterious woman who is new to the city. Rob Delaney, David Rasche, Beverly D’Angelo, Paul Gilfail, Katherine Erbe, WhoEli Aquin, Georgia Lyman, Rebecca Henderson And M.Oli Brown Fill in the rest of the cast.
And how will that intervention be? As Hildi says, “Okay, if we’re really going to do this, I need a drink.”
