Snap Here YouTube Alum Francis Roberts as Senior Talent Manager – Variety

Francis Roberts, a former director of YouTube who worked with the platform’s biggest creators, has joined Snap as senior manager of digital talent.

Roberts at Snapchat parent company starting Monday, May 18 at L.A. On the grounds he will report to Jim Shepherd, head of Snape’s talent partnership. Most recently, Roberts was on YouTube, where he was the strategic partner manager of Top Creators and worked with talent including Liza Koshi, Tri Guys and Jackie Aina.

At Snap, Roberts will oversee the relationship with digital-native talent. In this role, he will identify opportunities to work with them to develop Snap Creator shows and Snap Originals, as well as support community content such as Snap Me, as well as content opportunities from developers to answer questions from fans of the platform’s stars.

Roberts joined Snap after spending eight years at Google. At Internet giant, before joining the YouTube team in 2017, he was a key analytical leader working with Google advertising clients. Prior to joining Google in 2012, he was the founder and CEO of BE LLC, a New York-based event planning and digital media firm. Prior to that, he worked as an analyst at Barclays Capital. Roberts holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from Howard University, focusing on Asia-Pacific studies.
