Live, from your smartphone! It’s you and your friends on a personalized sketch-comedy show, brought to you by Snapchat.

The new 10-episode Snap Original series “The Me and You Show” taps into Snapchat’s cameos একটি a feature that uses a kind of deepfake technology to ert someone’s face in a scene. Using the cameo, the show makes you the lead actor in the comedy skit among your best friends by uploading a few selfies.

The first episode will premiere on October 1, with subsequent episodes to be published weekly. Jack Bornstein, a former “Saturday Night Live” author, wrote that sketch comedy episodes were captured, written, filmed and post-produced “under strict technical guidance” to be compatible with Camos technology. According to Snap, the goal was to provide an event where anyone, regardless of gender, could play any role.

“This kind of fun, first-of-its-kind show is a great example of the kind of innovation that is possible when it comes to telling mobile stories. “It also shows the expansion of the Snap Original series on our platform,” said Erin Keating, Senior Development Manager at Snap Originals.

Take a selfie with the Snapchat app’s camera to keep yourself and your friend in “The Me and You Show”. If you’ve already set up a cameo selfie on Snapchat, the show will use that image; If not, the show will take you to the Cameos signup page and ask you to take a selfie at that time.

Snap’s chamos team had to deal with a variety of challenges, such as how to make the chamos-driven characters communicate optimally with other actors, and how to create voice performances to present anyone’s voice in a humorous way. The Cameos feature is based on technology developed by AI Factory, a startup developer of image and video recognition, analysis and processing technology that Snap acquired in 2019.

In early 2020, Snapchat launched a show with a similar concept – “Bitmoji TV”, a parody of the TV and movie genre that shows users and their friends’ bitmoji cartoon avatars.

According to Snap, more than 44 million Snapchat users engage with Cameos weekly, and more than 16 million share Cameos with their friends.

“The Me and You Show” is produced by Big Breakfast and Kids at Play with propaganda content.
