Right-Sound Sound and Beat Platform Splice have established its first Global Music Council, a strategic advisory board of artists, entrepreneurs, and experts in the major music fields. According to the announcement, Advisors was chosen to provide a variety of perspectives and an artist’s lens to expand access to Splice’s music creation platform around the world.
Karen VG, founder and CEO of Something in Common, co-founder and vice chairman and vice chairman of the Black Music Action Coalition and former manager of Farrell Williams, will chair the Global Music Council of Splice. In this inaugural role, VG and co-council members will help Splice identify trends and opportunities to support low-representation music-makers worldwide. The council will advise on progress and cultural trends in shaping Splice’s music education and collaboration products, with Splice’s popular library of more than 2 million pre-clear samples.

Other charter members of Splice’s Global Music Council include: Mr. E Yaji, Nigerian artist and founder of Artist Incubator Empowa Africa; Imogen Hip, Grammy-winning musician and co-founder of Creative Passport; Hussein ‘Spec’ Yusuf, founder of PopArabia and newly launched Middle East PRO ESMAA; Matthew Daniels, China-based DJ and International VP of NetAge Cloud Music; Ebony Smith, chief engineer of Atlantic Studios and founder of Gender Enhancement; And Sebastian Cris, two-time Latin Grammy Producer of the Year winner and founder and president / CEO of Rebelion Entertainment. The council will report to Chief Music Officer Maria Egan; In addition to the internal representation of CEO / co-founder Steve Martoki; GM / Chief Content Officer Dan Jacagnino and Board Member Matt Pinkas.
