The Recording Academy has announced that the 2022 Grammy nominations will be announced on Tuesday, November 23rd. The unveiling took place just two days before Thanksgiving, as they did last year.
This year’s list may differ significantly in recent years, as the academy has eliminated the “secret” nominating committees of artists, producers and industry experts that have made the final list over the past few decades – now, the final nominees will obviously be chosen by the larger Grammy voting bodies. The move – and the subsequent rebuilding of the Academy Awards team – was made after last year’s controversial nomination, which inevitably saw Weekend, one of the most successful albums of the year, and one of the most successful singles of the 2000s, “Blind Lights”, receiving no nominations.
The 2022 award will be eligible for 1 13 months due to industrial delays due to epidemics.
The Academy has also released a list of relevant dates for the 2022 Grammy:

Earlier this week, Variety also confirmed that the academy has suspended two honorary awards programs, the Grammy Hall of Fame and its Special Merit Awards for one year. The former is delaying reconsidering its process and the academy plans to relaunch it next year; The latter is being delayed because last year’s honorees have not yet been properly recognized. That news was first reported by Billboard.
The Grammy Awards return to the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday, January 31, 2022 and will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and at 8-11:30 pm ET / 5-8: 30pm PT.
