Charlie Carver is the recipient of this year’s GLSEN Gamechanger Award.
GBSN, the country’s leading organization working to make LGBTQ schools safer and more inclusive for students, is usually honored at its annual New York Respect Awards in the spring, but the 2020 program has moved everywhere in a week of virtual fundraising called Honors.
Curve, who will be appearing with Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” twin brother Max, was revealed as gay in an Instagram post on 201 Instagram.
“I’ve always known that I wanted to do something with my life that could help young people feel ashamed of their relationship,” Carver Glsen said in a recognized speech at the Org Post. “I did not want to visit. I just wanted to express my part in a way I wish I could share as a simple wonderful truth about who I was in school years ago. When Carver said he grew up in a supportive and accepting family, he said the school presented unspoken issues.

He added, “LGBTQ children suffer from really embarrassing problems as they communicate on the internet, often at school and sometimes at home with grief, and this affects them throughout their lives. But I believe LGBTQ people are flexible and in some ways special. I think we are able to think empathetically, act with courage, work creatively and live within the community. These qualities, however, these essential qualities can only emerge in a positive, safe and encouraging environment. “
