Apple Studios has brought the hot movie package, starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, directed by John Watts, which was the subject of a fever-fighting battle, according to two sources of knowledge of the project.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” will be written, directed, and produced by Clooney’s Smokehouse Pictures and Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment. Lionsgate, Sony, Netflix, Universal, Amazon, Annapurna and Warner Bros. are also thought to have circled the project, which will see the reunion of the “Ocean 11” star.
According to the deadline, which broke the news of the acquisition, a theatrical release is also part of the deal.
It is said that the image will focus on two fixers who get the same gig.
Pete and Clooney reunite for the Coin Brothers’ “Burn of Reading”. Clooney is directing Ben Affleck and Tie Sheridan at “The Tender Bar,” which opens on December 17.
Watts has directed three recent Spider-Man films. His most recent entry, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” is making its debut this winter.
Clooney, Pete, and Watts are repped by CAA. Clooney has also been restored by Lechter Grossman, Pitt by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Goodman Zeno, and Watts by Zeffren Brittenham.
