The company announced on Monday morning that Tory Amos will release a new studio album called “Ocean to Ocean” on October 2, 2021. Described as “an emotional record”, the new album has epidemics and Capitol has been attacked as a touchstone, leading to “a return to the kind of self-control recognized from his 1992 debut album ‘Little Earthquakes’.”
Amos said in the announcement, “This is a record of your losses and how you deal with them. Fortunately when you live long enough, you can recognize that you don’t feel like the mother you want to be, the wife you want to be, the artist you want to be.” I understand that in order to transfer it, you have to write from where you are. I was in my own private hell, so I told myself, then you write from there – you did it before.
“We all have some moments that can frustrate us,” he said. “This record sits with you wherever you are, especially if you’re in a place of loss. I’m fascinated when someone goes through a tragedy, and how they work through their misery. That’s where the gold is. When someone is actually in that place,” I ended up wondering, “How do you get to that person? Sometimes it’s not about a pill, or a double shot of Tequila. It’s about sitting on the mole together. I’m going to see you.”
Amos released her second book “Resistance” in 2019 and staged her musical “The Light Princess”. About 10 years ago, she became the first public voice for RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network), the largest anti-sexual harassment organization in the United States, and continues to be a member of its National Leadership Council.
