Thriller ‘American Son’ – Russell Crowe starring as a mobster in variety

Russell Crowe is set to star in Paramount’s thriller “American Son”, which is based on the critically acclaimed French film “A Prophet”.
Andrew “Rapman” Onubolu is directing the movie from the screenplay by Dennis Lehan. Neil H. is producing through the original film. Patient and Toby Jaffe.
Rapman landed the work after his work “Blue Story” which caught the eye of Paramount executives during the director’s search.
The “American Son” centers around a man who, after coming under the control of a ruthless mob (Crow played) while in prison, formed a multi-colored crime syndicate, took his mentor down and secured a place for his crew in Italy as well. And the Russian Mafia
Paramount is now on its way to discovering a variety of studios with casting, including formulas, by searching for the movie’s protagonist shortly.
The original film, directed by Jack O’Dwyer, follows an Arab man (played by his benefactor) who is sent to a French prison, where he becomes a mafia kingpin. “A Prophet” won the Grand Prix at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. It was also nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2010 Oscars.
Originally set up at Sony Pictures, where it was renamed “American Son” again, the film is now Paramount’s top priority.
Crowe’s next film, “Unhindered” will mark the first movie to return to theaters since the epidemic. It debuted July 1 with the distribution of Solstice Studios.
Crowe recently appeared in “The True History of the Kelly Gang” and played Roger Isles in the showtime limited series “The Loudest Voice”. He has been re-ranked by the WME.
