Trinity Cine Asia has acquired all UK and CIS rights to the Chinese disaster film “Cloudy Mountain” from Beijing Blossoms Entertainment.
The film made its debut in China on September 17 and led the box office there for two weeks. It has grossed 66 million to date, with pre-sales of 1. 1.7 million a week before the local opening.
Now, the title, starring popular TV actors Heartthrob Zhu Yilong, Huang Zhizhong and Xu Chen, will be released in the UK in October at Cine5 theaters in the UK and at the end of November in Russia and Ukraine with “version localization” for the market, “said Cedric Behrell, director of Trinity Cine Asia.
With a production budget of 400 million, the film tells the story of a Chinese county devastated by an earthquake and the efforts and sacrifices of rescue workers to save local residents. It is inspired by real events.

We think now is the right time to release in the UK, the film is still new to viewers and especially to fans of Zhu Ying.
When director Jun Lee (“Hunt Down”) was stranded in the UK for seven months last year due to the epidemic, he learned about real-life natural disasters that inspired the film’s story, while his assistants conducted field research on the site.
Founded in 2007, Cine Asia is a distributor focusing on martial arts and Asian action movies.
