The release date for the “Recent Academy” season has been set for Netflix this summer, with the comic-based superhero franchise appearing on the Castrentine video conference teaser for the show’s upcoming return.

Uncharted Family-Superheroes will return to Netflix worldwide on July 31, 2020 with a new set of adventures. The live-action series is based on the comic book “Umbrella Academy” written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bau, published by Dark Horse Comics.

“Umbrella Academy” stars Ellen Page, Mary J. Blige, Cameron Britton, Tom Hopper, David Casteda, Amy Raver-Lampman, Robert Shehan, Aidan Gallagher, Penn Feuer, Adam Godley, John Magaro, Ashley Madache and Kate.

The second season will star Ritu Arya, Joseph Getwood and Marine Ireland.

On the same day in October 1969, in The Backstory of “The Umbrella Academy”, 43 babies were born to indescribably connected women who did not show signs of pregnancy the day before. In the Netflix adaptation, six billionaires have adopted Reginald Hargreaves (aka “The Monocle”), who created the Umbrella Academy and prepared his “children” to save the world: Vania / The White Violin (Ellen Page), Luther / Spaceboy (Tom Hopper), Diego / The Kraken (David Casteda), Allison / The Rumor (Amy Raver-Lampman), Klaus / The Sons (Robert Sheehan) and Number Five / Boy (Aidan G.) Jalagar).

The show was produced by UCP, a division of NBCUniversal Content Studio for Netflix. Steve Blackman served as executive producer and returned as the 2nd season showrunner. Additional executive producer is Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Gerard Way and Gabriel B.
