About 20 days before Mixtape dropped, Suga said on a V Live that fans should not wait for “August D2” and “the music will not be released anytime soon”. Fans were then given a countdown image as a teaser, which is common in the K-pop world. The artist usually starts with D-X and counts all D-days up to D-Day, D-1 which will be the day of release. Nihawa is a small name in South Korea with several albums under her belt and she has collaborated as a writer for other K-pop works like Got Like. Kig Jung Wan, who referred to Suga as his admirer, closed the mix with the front of the Korean alternative rock band Nell and “Dear My Friend”.
