A 38-year-old worker was seriously injured during a “long fall” at Sunset Gower Studios on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said the man fell from a high platform, apparently through an opening. Officials at the scene estimated that the fall was from a height of 60-80 feet, although this has not been confirmed.
The man was seriously injured, and was initially listed in a “serious” condition. On-set EMTs were able to recover a pulse and firefighters took the man to the Regional Trauma Center. Humphrey said the man had been promoted to “critical” condition.
“Thanks to EMT and paramedics, he has a chance to fight for his survival,” Humphrey said.
Netflix is expected to shoot “Me Time” starring Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg at Hollywood’s convenience center.
A LAPD spokesman said the Los Angeles Police Department was also called to the scene later in the morning.
Netflix and Sunset Gower Studios did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
The LAFD was called at 0:80 a.m., when they arrived, firefighters were instructed at the entrance to Fountain Avenue and Beachwood Drive, where they led the patient. Cal / OSAEA will investigate the incident.
